PhD/MASc positions in Image/video processing available at University of Waterloo

Prof. Zhou Wang’s Image and Vision Computing group (https://ece.uwaterloo.ca/~z70wang/ ) at Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), University of Waterloo, Canada, is seeking for highly motivated students to join the research group as PhD and Master of Applied Science (MASc) students, starting from Fall 2013. The research group currently consists of 1 postdoctoral fellow, 7 PhD students and 2 MAsc students and is well known for its continued contributions in the field, especially in visual perception related image/video processing. Dept. of ECE is the largest department in the university and all full-time PhD and MASc students admitted to the department will be automatically granted with financial support.
PhD applicants are preferred but outstanding MASc applicants will also be seriously considered. Successful applicants should be highly interested in developing and implementing image/video processing algorithms and systems. Desired qualifications include solid background in mathematics and statistics, knowledge and experience of working on image/video coding and processing problems, and good programming skills in Matlab, C/C++, etc.
