       On July 11th, 2014, IEEE Fellow, Yi Ma, School of Information Sciences and Technology， ShanghaiTech University, China, was invited by our research group to Xidian University and gave us a lecture “Pursuit of Low-dimensional Structures in High-dimensional Data”.        On July 10th, 2014,Associate Professor, Jie Liang,Simon Fraser University, Canada., was invited by our research group to Xidian University and gave us two lectures “Graphical Model-based View Synthesis Distortion Estimation”,and“Approximate Message Passing-based Compressed Sensing Reconstruction with Generalized Elastic Net Prior”.        On Sept. 1-3th, 2013, Prof. Yao Wang, Electrical and Computer Engineering Polytechnic Institute of NYU, USA, was invited by Prof. Guangming Shi to Xidian University and gave us a lecture “Modeling the Impact of Spatial, Temporal and Amplitude Resolution on Video Quality and Rate for Networked Video Applications”.        On August 20th, 2013, Prof. Bormin Huang, SSEC in the University of Wisconsin-Madison, was invited by Prof. Guangming Shi to Xidian University and made academic discussion on GPU computing and image compression .

       On July 22th, 2013, the 2013 IEEE Forum on Media Computing and Communication,orgnized by Prof. Guangming Shi, was held successfully in Xi'an,China.

      On May 23th-24th,2013, the Post ISCAS 2013 conference,orgnized by Prof. Guangming Shi, was held successfully in Xidian University,which was sponsored by the Institute of Aero-Space Electronics Information,National 111 Base of the Program of Introducing Talents of Discipline to Unversitties Xidian University.

       On Jan. 05th,2013, Ph.D. Huifang Sun, Vice President &Deputy Director, Research Fellow of Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories, IEEE Fellow, was invited by Prof. Guangming Shi to Xidian University, and gave us a lecture “HEVC Overview”. Address: Room 227#, 2nd District, Main building.

      On June 26th, 2012, Prof. Guang-Hong Chen, Department of Medical Physics and Radiology and the Director of X-ray CT Imaging Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison, was invited by Associate Prof. Weisheng Dong to Xidian University, and gave us a lecture “Compressed Sensing and Prior Image Constrained Compressed Sensing in X-ray Medical Computed Tomography”.        On Oct. 28th, 2011, Associate Professor Jie Liang , School of Engineering Science Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, BC, Canada, was invited by Prof. Guangming Shi to XidianUniversity.         On Oct. 22th, 2011, full Professor Oscar C. AU, Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, was invited by Prof. Guangming Shi to XidianUniversity.         On June 17th, 2011, Prof. Wenjun Zeng, Computer Science Department of University of Missouri, Columbia, MO, was invited by Prof. Guangming Shi to XidianUniversity.         On June 8th, 2011, Associate Professor Jianfei Cai, PhD, Division of ComputerCommunications School of Computer Engineering, NanyangTechnologicalUniversity, was invited by Prof. Guangming Shi to Xidian University.          On May 14th, 2010, Prof. Yin Zhang, Department of Computational and Applied Mathematics, Rice University, was invited by Prof. Guangming Shi to Xidian University.          On 26-30 October, 2009, Prof. Guangming Shi, School of Electronic Engineering at Xidian University, has organized successfully the 90th MPEG and 50th JPEG meeting, which is held at the five-star Sheraton Hotel in Xi'an, China.

       On Oct.31st 2009, the workshop of 90th MPEG & JPEG 50th Meeting organized by Professor Guangming Shi was held in Xidian University. This workshop presented new multimedia technologies and applications, especially in audio, video standardizations and technologies as defined and studied by ISO/IEC JTC1 SC29 WG11, ITU-T SG16 Q.6 ,3DV,and AVS Working Group.

       June 7-10, 2007, Prof. Xiaolin Wu, MacMasteUniversity, Canada, was invited by Prof. Guangming Shi to XidianUniversity and gave an academic lecture named “Image Interpolation by Adaptive 2D Autoregressive Modeling”.

       July 13-15, 2007, Prof. Zixiang Xiong, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Texas A&M University, came to Xidian University for academic communication and gave a lecture "Wyner-Ziv and dirty-paper coding: Duality, limit approaching code designs and applications"

       December, 26-27, 2007, Dr. Wotao Yin, American Rice University, was invited by Prof. Guangming Shi to Xidian University and gave 2 lectures “Introduction to Compressed Sensing” and “Reconstruction Algorithm”.

       November 30, 2008, associate professor Weisi Lin in Nanyang Techonological University of Singapore was invited by Prof.Guangming Shi to Xidian University and gave an academic lecture“On the visual-based criteria for image processing”

       December, 9-10, 2008, AP of American Rice University Dr. Wotao Yin was invited by Prof. Guangming Shi to XidianUniversity and gave two lectures: (1) “Introduction to Compressed Sensing” (2) “Reconstruction Algorithm”.
